Shin-ei was an effect pedal manufacturer.

History[]

Shin-ei came into existence after the demise of Honey and took over the floundering company's operations. It created a wide variety of effects that were sold under many different brand names. Production stopped sometime in the 1970's. What became of the company is something of a mystery.

Branding that can be found on Shin-ei pedals includes Apollo, Avora, Boomer, Companion, Electra, Greco, Hohner, Jax, Kent, Kimbara, LRE, Mana, Mayfair, Melos Electronics, Mica, Nomad, Oscar, Pax, Rands, Royal, Sekova, Shaftesbury, Teisco, Telestar, Tempo, Uecks, and Univox.[1]
